Why would I used an event lead management system instead of the system provided by our lead retrieval company?
An event lead management system differs from standard handheld barcode scanners or mobile apps provided by most lead retrieval companies. First, they allow you to customize your form to collect data that you want in addition to data stored in the barcode. Second, data gets added to your back office system (CRM, automation system, etc.) in near real-time without having to deal with exporting/importing and data curation. Finally, there are more lead capture methods such as business card transcription, business card scanning, and quick search/find from a list.
In addition to lead capture, what other services does an event lead management system provide?
Enterprise-level event lead management systems will also offer a CRM for data storage, sales automation, and marketing automation as additional “packages” to add-on to your event lead management system.
Does an event lead management system allow me to run a check-in process at my event?

Yes, your event lead management system can scan barcodes provided by many lead retrieval vendors such as Cvent, Experient, CompuSystems, ATS, ITN, Expo Logic, and many more. Your event lead management provider will integrate the lead retrieval company’s Development Kit (a.k.a. development library) to support their barcode format and data structure.
People keep giving me business cards. Can I use them with event lead management?
Yes. Event lead management usually include an option to capture data from a business card, ranging from simply taking an image to Optical Character Recognition (OCR). The most accurate way to capture data from a business card is by using transcriptions. Simply take an image of the business card, and your event lead management provider will transcribe the submission. Unlike OCR, it is unlikely you will run into issues with misread characters and tends to have more support for foreign languages.
